The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority is a self-funded, quasi-public agency with a mission to alleviate the shortage of housing for low-to moderate income families and persons in the state. At CHFA, we believe that all Connecticut residents should have a choice about where they live. We help create these choices by investing in affordable, safe, and quality housing, helping to shape environmentally sustainable and economically healthy communities. As an agency, CHFA lends more than $500 million dollars each year through a variety of mortgage programs including those for first-time homebuyers and for the development of multifamily affordable housing properties.
