The 11-week summer internship program provides opportunities to:

  • Access to Executive Leadership Team members for weekly Q&A sessions
  • Learn directly from industry experts by having weekly 1:1 conversations related to career development
  • Attend workshops related post-college career paths and personal development
  • Gain exposure to all that the financial services industry has to offer
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of and make significant contributions to department initiatives and goals
  • Establish a mentor-mentee relationship with team members

As an intern, you will participate in development meetings, a variety of networking, mentoring and community events, all intended to help establish what your well-th story is.

The position is full time for the 11 weeks and is a paid non-exempt (overtime pay eligible) position.

About Our Team:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is critical in the development and execution of the company’s growth strategy. The FP&A team leverages its access to data and an understanding of the business strategy to drive & support decision making at the executive level. The team operates in a highly interactive environment both within the team and across other functions in the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Gain an understanding of the role of the FP&A department at an organization through educational conversations on department setup, roles in the team and how the team interacts with the rest of the organization
  • Assist team members in ongoing operations including financial close, performance analysis, data manipulation and visualization, and variance and trend analysis
  • Develop financial models to help management evaluate initiatives; work cross functionally to develop assumptions and understand downstream impacts of potential initiatives
  • Assist FP&A team members in process improvement efforts
  • Assist in the development of reporting materials for investors, lenders and company leadership
  • Specific project work is not yet determined, but previous interns have assisted in conducting pricing analysis and margin analysis to compare across Hightower’s 100+ firms and the industry

Who You Are:

  • Current full-time undergraduate student with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Solid baseline of financial concepts, financial modeling capabilities, and an understanding of the core financial statements
  • Excel (can perform complex functions) and PowerPoint experience
  • Competence to build relationships and collaborate within Finance and across the organization
  • Self-starter that will seek out opportunities to step in and help
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment comfortably
